Tutoring
and Study Skills
Tutorial
services are provided by the College, free of charge, through the Dept. of Learning
and Student Development. A staff of approximately 20 professionals and peer
tutors offer academic assistance to individuals and groups in over 50 subject
areas, including but not limited to: English, math, computers, social services,
natural sciences, and career/technical courses of study. These services are
offered Monday thru Friday, from September to May. Some evening hours are available;
appointments are encouraged.
The Department
of Learning also offers several free workshops throughout each semester, to
help students with their academic study skills. Topics include: how to read
a text effectively, how to study efficiently and how to write a college level
paper.
