GENERALS
HOLD "THE BUNKER"
November 11, 2008
The Sullivan Generals (2-0, 2-0 Region XV) took the floor last
night in Mid-Hudson and Region XV action. The Senators of Ulster
(0-3, 0-3 Region XV) entered “The Bunker” and left
battered and bruised. The Generals shot a blistering 67% (2
pt. FG’s) from the field and out-rebounded their opponent
by 24. The Generals pressure forced 23 turnovers and took a
15 point lead into the locker room at halftime.
In the second half, the Generals struggled to protect the 3
pt line and overall the Senators were 7-16 from the behind the
arc. While lapsing defensively in the 2nd half, the Generals
offense clicked all night and the final outcome was
97-70.
The
Generals were led by pre-season All-American Tymel Ambrose with
15 assists. In the scoring category, the Generals were led by
a veteran and some youth. Sophomore Timothy McKnight (New Rochelle)
led the way with 16 points. Freshman EJ Freeman (Holy Cross)
was next with a 15 point, 6 rebounds performance. Antoine Gattling
(Eagle Academy) followed with 14 points and Tyquan Moore (Boys
& Girls) rounded out the scoring with a 13 point effort.
The Generals take to “The Bunker” in the Paul Gerry
Field House on November 13th at 7:30 PM.
Passaic Community College of Paterson, New Jersey will make
the trek up to Loch Sheldrake.

GENERALS
OPEN STRONG
November 10, 2008
The Generals
opened the 2008-2009 season with a strong statement made on Wednesday
November 5th. The pre-season polls have the Generals at #1 and
they did not disappoint. Columbia-Greene entered “The Bunker”
looking to spoil the home opener. Sullivan jumped out to a fast
lead building it to a 15 point margin at half time. The game concluded
with the Generals winning 77-47.
Sophomore
Timothy McKnight (New Rochelle) led Sullivan with 12 points.
Freshmen Tyrone Mitchell (Mt. Vernon) and Antoine Gattling (Eagle
Academy) both contributed 10 points in the win. Sophomore Andre’
Martin (Evander Childs) led a strong effort on the glass as
the Generals out-rebounded the Twins 47-22. Andre’ contributed
11 of those boards. Sophomore David Williamson (Wings Academy)
added to the defensive effort by swiping 6 steals from the visitors.
The Generals next game is Monday, November 10th vs. Ulster at
7:30 PM.
